Accommodation and Meals
The Symposium takes place at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (RSAS) (Kungl. Vetenskapsakademien) in Frescati 5 km north of central Stockholm. RSAS is conveniently accessible by public transportation, i.e. the bus stop and underground station is 150 meters from RSAS's buildings. The underground ride from Central Stockholm is 10 minutes. We cannot provide any accommodation at the RSAS, but we have booked rooms at two different hotels. From one of the hotels, hotel Arcadia, it is a 30-40 minutes walk. Some parking space may be available at the RSAS. Lunches (buffet) will be served in the Club villa of the Academy, and coffee/tea will be served at the Academy in connection with the seminars.
Scholarships
We hope to be able to offer some scholarships to cover parts of the expenses for attending the Symposium. The size and number of these scholarships depends on how much funding we will receive. Applicants (full-time students and others) interested in receiving scholarships should write a separate application stating their institutional address, home address and proof of student status.
Papers and Posters
There is no specified theme for the Symposium. Besides giving talks from individual papers we encourage participants to suggest themes for sessions as well as recruiting speakers. Speakers will be given 20-30 minutes for their respective talks. Poster contributions are welcomed.
The deadline for submitting papers is August 1, 2001. Earlier submission is encouraged, and early confirmation of acceptance may be given upon request. Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words, and should include the name of the author and the title of the paper.
There will be an instrument exhibition in the Linnaeus room of the Academy of some of the instruments belonging to the RSAS. In the same room there will be space for the poster presentations.
