SIC Cumulative Bibliography

The SIC Cumulative Bibliography is an electronic database listing the titles of books, pamphlets, catalogues and articles on or connected with historical scientific instruments. The web interface to this database allows Quick and Advanced mode searches and the database contents will be updated periodically. At present, the database holds over 3000 entries. (note: the old list format bibliography files have been saved, but will not be updated.)

New books, articles, offprints, or notices of publication for inclusion in this electronic cumulative bibliography database (including ISBN numbers where appropriate) should be sent to SIC bibliographer Harry Leechburch (Librarian of the Museum Boerhaave in Leiden, e-mail: h.leechburch@museumboerhaave.nl) in addition to any corrections regarding the content of this electronic database. (To avoid duplicate effort regarding new submissions, please click here to see a list of journals that are systematically checked for relevant articles for inclusion in the SIC cumulative bibliography.)

In addition to the web interface above, the current SIC bibliography can be downloaded and accessed as a text file. This file, in Reference Manager RIS Format, can be viewed directly with a number of standard utility programs (Notepad, etc.), or imported into a citation management program such as Endnote (version 9 or higher, be sure to select the UTF translation import option to handle properly the special characters contained in this text file). This file is offered as a courtesy to users of the SIC bibliography; no support beyond making this file available can be provided.
